Lake Powell Elopement | Abigail Jean Photography

Lake Powell is one stunning place. As a girl who has always lived in the North East, I’m just not used to seeing such crazy expanses of nature - especially when that nature is made up of desert and canyons. We drove up to this spot on RZRS (which are basically go-garts on steroids) and were COMPLETELY covered in dust from head to toe. I think I inhaled a small portion of desert into my lungs, despite my scarf being wrapped around my face. Honestly the journey to the top made the experience even more unforgettable and fun!

Joe and Nique were so much fun to work with. They were down to clamber over rocks, sit on ledges, and get a little dirty. We started shooting while the sun was still super bright out, and then again once it had set, and then kept going after it was dark because, hey! why not? We used the lights of the RZR to backlight them, then made the journey back down to civilization.

I’ll never forget this experience and the beauty that Lake Powell had to offer us.
