Vermont Wedding | Sky Acres | Abigail Jean Photography
The world was bursting into color for Kirsten + Dan’s wedding in rural Vermont. They got married at Sky Acres, a DIY venue set on top of a hill with the most gorgeous views of autumn in New England. Not only were the leaves in full color, but you could also see for miles and were surrounded by mountains as far as the eye could see! Kirsten got ready with her girls in the farmhouse below, her mom and sister helping her into her dress, and then we made the drive up to the top of the hill where Dan waited for their first look.
New Leaf Organics set up the ceremony arch on top of the hill, and guests filed into their seats while the sun decided to make it’s debut, warming everyone up on a cool October day. They had a live guitarist who serenaded the bridal attendants down the grassy isle, Kirsten + Dan exchanged their own personal vows (which made everyone cry), there was scripture reading, a prayer of blessing on their union, and then they were announced as husband and wife. Once again the clouds parted just as they had their first kiss, and then they walked back up the isle while their guests showered them with dried lavender!
Kirsten had two outfits, and changed into her second one directly after the ceremony. It was a hand-embroidered, cream-colored Lehenga, with jewelry brought by Dan’s family from India, in honor of their two cultures being united. We took sunset photos with her in this second outfit while their guests enjoyed cocktail hour below in the reception area, then joined them for dancing, pizza, Indian food, and more dancing! This day was absolutely breathtaking, and I couldn’t be happier for these two <3
