Franconia Notch Winter Engagement | Abigail Jean Photography

I knew Mallory + Aaron were my kind of people from the moment I met them. I knew it even more so when in planning their engagement shoot up in Franconia Notch in New Hampshire, they invited Mike along and made a whole weekend out of it! After a night of homemade bolognese (Aaron used to work as a chef) we slept in, had our coffee, and then headed out on our short but icy hike. We weren’t sure if there would be any snow left after some heavy rain the day before, but we found just enough to bring the woods alive, and a few flakes started falling once we reached the outlook.

Ollie (their adorable pup) was having the time of his life, running back and forth and showing us all up as we panted our way up the mountain. When we finally broke through the trees we took in the prettiest view of the New Hampshire Mountains all around us. Thanks to the freezing December temps, we had the whole view to ourselves. Also, no one slipped and broke any bones, so that was another bonus.

We headed back to the ski lodge for hot chocolate and some fireplace snuggles, with Ollie of course. Mallory + Aaron love skiing, hiking, cooking, and spending time with their puppy, and I loved that our time together incorporated all of those things (except skiing, but I think sliding in ice counts?). I seriously cannot wait for their wedding this fall!!
